«Arthur Rimbaud, le voleur de feu» is the fictionalized biography by Sarah Cohen-Scali, published by Poche Jeunesse in paperback (256 pages, in French).
The work recreates the childhood and adolescence of Arthur Rimbaud in Charleville, the gray provincial town he detests, where he lives with his mother and his two sisters. He devours books relentlessly and dreams of a multicolored bird called Baou that inspires his poems; he wants to be a poet even if that means being a rebel.
Winner of the Prix Ados Rennes Ille-et-Vilaine in 1995. Recommended reading age: 11 to 12 years.
Recommended for young readers who want to approach French poetry through the life of Arthur Rimbaud.
