«Artisans villageois: Quand les outils de nos grand-pères rythmaient la vie du bourg» is the ethnographic chronicle by Gérard Boutet, in hardcover.
Gérard Boutet documents rural France of yesteryear through its traditional trades: potters, carpenters and other craftsmen whose tools and daily gestures set the pace of village life. He revives forgotten techniques, customs and know-how, essential to the life and identity of rural communities.
The work, published by Jean-Cyrille Godefroy Editions in 2002, comprises 190 pages and is written in French.
For those interested in social history, rural ethnography, craftsmanship and French folk traditions.
