«As flores radioactivas» is the young adult science fiction novel by Agustín Fernández Paz, published by Xerais in paperback (128 pages, in Galician).
In the Atlantic Trench, where radioactive waste from European nuclear plants was dumped until 1982, a patch of mutant flowers appears whose aroma turns anyone who inhales it into a pacifist. NATO cordons off the area and Alba, a girl from a coastal town, hides as a stowaway on an ecological expedition to uncover the mystery.
It belongs to Xerais's Merlín collection, aimed at readers aged 11 and up, and includes illustrations by Miguelanxo Prado. Winner of the Merlín Prize.
For young readers fond of science fiction and adventure stories with an ecological backdrop.
