The Lord of Tarsis must solve a murder with political implications and turns to the three least indispensable inhabitants of the city: a mercenary, a poet-assassin, and a thief. Although they are not the best choice for investigating, they prove suspiciously good at bringing the guilty to justice.

For fantasy readers and fans of Dragonlance novels.
