«Asuntos internos: Una investigación de Malcolm Fox» is the crime novel by Ian Rankin, published by RBA in paperback (480 pages, in Spanish).
Malcolm Fox works in the police Internal Affairs department, an area dedicated to investigating corruption among officers. Having just solved a case, he must deal with a father admitted to a care home too expensive for his salary and a sister living with an abuser. What seems like a simple corruption file turns out to be a wider plot, with the financial crisis as a backdrop.
First installment of the Malcolm Fox series. Published in RBA's Serie Negra collection. Original title: The Complaints (2009), translated by Francisco Martín Arribas.
A read for those who enjoy crime fiction with a social backdrop and an unusual protagonist, far from the classic detective.
