«Aulki jokoa» is the contemporary novel by Uxue Alberdi Estibaritz, published by Elkar in paperback (124 pages, in Basque).
Teresa, Martiña and Eulali are the voices weaving this story from childhood to the present. In a small village, the game of musical chairs becomes a metaphor for life: there is always someone left without a seat. Love, war, freedom and rebellion appear, linking childhood with afternoons of coffee at the pastry shop.
Volume 286 of the Literatura collection; first edition published on April 15, 2009.
For readers of contemporary fiction in Basque, especially those who enjoy choral stories with female characters and rural life.
Uxue Alberdi Estibaritz is a Basque writer and bertsolari.
