«Aventuras de una negrita en busca de Dios» is the philosophical novel by George Bernard Shaw, published by Galaxia Gutenberg in hardcover (120 pages).
A young African woman, recently converted by a missionary, ventures into the jungle in search of God. Along the way she challenges various figures who embody different images of the divine, and sages who try to guide her; her skepticism topples dogmas and certainties. Shaw turns the journey into a satire of organized religion and authority.
The work, originally published in 1932, was issued in Spanish with a translation by Benito Gómez Ibáñez and woodcuts by John Farleigh. Narrativa collection, no. 45.
For readers of satire and religious criticism; Shaw's irony about dogmas and authority remains fully relevant.

George Bernard Shaw was an Irish playwright, critic, polemicist and political activist. His influence on Western theatre, culture and politics extended from the 1880s to his death and beyond. He wrote more than sixty plays, including major works such as Man and Superman (1902), Pygmalion (1913) and Saint Joan (1923). With a range incorporating both contemporary satire and historical allegory, Shaw became the leading dramatist of his generation, and was awarded the 1925 Nobel Prize in Literature.
