Immerse yourself in the moving story of Sándor Lester, a Hungarian exile seeking refuge in a cold European city. In 'Yesterday', Agota Kristof introduces us to a lonely man, trapped in the monotony of a watch factory, who finds solace in writing and chance encounters. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Line, a compatriot who awakens in him a love as intense as it is destructive. With refined prose and a disturbing atmosphere, Kristof invites us to reflect on the miseries and cruelties of the contemporary world, exploring themes such as uprooting, loneliness, and the search for identity in an alienating environment. 'Yesterday' is an essential novel that will captivate you from the first page.
