In 1935, Eudoxie, a forty-seven-year-old pastry chef, marries Armand Bouvier, father of Lucien. Five years later, widowed, she ends up living with her stepson, a man obsessed with his Citroën and with the voices he hears on the BBC. Between the two, a strange relationship emerges, between drama and romance, bound by war and chance.
Winner of the Prix Goncourt des Lycéens in 1994. The J'ai lu edition is from 1997.
