«Belleza Negra» is the children's and young adult novel by Anna Sewell, published by Editorial Vicens Vives in paperback (170 pages, in Spanish).
It narrates the life of Belleza Negra from his own perspective: a happy and loved colt who, when sold, passes through different owners, some kind and others cruel. His experiences show the importance of ethical treatment of animals and turn the story into a classic plea against abuse.
Cucaña collection. Adaptation by José María Pérez Zúñiga and illustrations by Christian Birmingham. The original novel was published in 1877.
Aimed at children and young adult readers; the adaptation and color illustrations bring this classic of animal literature closer to younger audiences.

Anna Sewell was an English novelist who is known for her only book, Black Beauty, a novel about a horse. She was born into a Quaker family in Norfolk and moved to London as a baby. Her mother, Mary Wright Sewell, was the author of popular children's books. Sewell never married and always lived with her parents, in Sussex, Gloucestershire and Norfolk. A chronic illness left her leading a life of invalidism, with trips to spa resorts in England and continental Europe. She joined her mother in carrying out charitable work and also edited her mother's books. Black Beauty was written between 1871 and 1877 and published a few months before Sewell's death.
