«Benedicto XVI: Una mirada cercana» is the biography of Pope Benedict XVI written by Peter Seewald, published by Ediciones Palabra in paperback.
Journalist Peter Seewald, who has known Joseph Ratzinger since 1992, offers a close and well-documented portrait of Pope Benedict XVI: his thought, his public image and his work at the head of the Church, in contrast with the cliché of the «gran inquisidor». The book reveals little-known details of his life and argues that it was not Ratzinger who changed, but the Church and the world.
Second edition, published on March 24, 2006 in the Palabra hoy collection. The work is illustrated with photographs.
For readers interested in the figure of Benedict XVI, the recent history of the Catholic Church and contemporary religious thought.
