«Bernadette, The Child Who Saw» is the children's book with text by Michel Vaidis and illustrations by Gemma Sales, published by MSM in hardcover, in English.
It recounts the childhood of Bernadette Soubirous, the young girl who claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary in the grotto of Lourdes, and the impact of those apparitions on her life and her community. The watercolor illustrations, showing the girl kneeling before a luminous figure in a rocky landscape, accompany the narrative.
The 1991 English edition, first edition, is translated from French; the translation is by John Lochran.
For child readers and for those approaching the story of the Lourdes apparitions.
