Synopsis of Bilbao-New York-Bilbao
Bilbao-New York-Bilbao es una novela del escritor Kirmen Uribe que narra la historia de tres generaciones de una familia a través de cartas, diarios, emails, poemas y diccionarios. La trama transcurre durante un vuelo entre el aeropuerto de Bilbao y el JFK de Nueva York, donde el narrador rastrea relatos familiares para escribir una novela. Este libro es un homenaje a un mundo prácticamente extinguido y un canto a la continuidad de la vida. La novela fue galardonada con el Premio Nacional de Narrativa en 2009 y el Premio Nacional de la Crítica en 2008 en lengua vasca. Es considerada una obra conmovedora y una renovación de la literatura actual.

Kirmen Uribe
Kirmen Uribe is a Basque-born New York-based award-winning writer whose work transcends borders, weaving together personal and collective histories. Through poetry and fiction, he explores themes of identity, migration, and memory, and reinvents the form. His debut novel, Bilbao–New York–Bilbao, won National Prize for Literature in Spain. His works have been translated into over twenty languages. Uribe's poetry has appeared in journals including The New Yorker and The Paris Review. In 2018, he received the New York Public Library Cullman Center Writing Fellowship. He now lives in New York City with his family, where he teaches creative nonfiction in the MFA program in Creative Writing in Spanish at New York University (NYU).
