Lestat, a two-hundred-year-old vampire with the appearance of a twenty-year-old, lives in the magnificent Blackwood estate in New Orleans with Quinn, whom he has initiated into the 'blood brotherhood.' The arrival of a beautiful mortal named Mona Mayfair, a witch with supernatural powers, triggers a series of events that lead Lestat to turn her into a vampire to save her life. The plot thickens with the arrival of Rowan Mayfair, Mona's cousin and a powerful scientist, for whom Lestat feels an irresistible attraction, while both become entangled in the mystery of the Táltos, extraordinary beings taken from the witches at birth.
