«Blue Skies & Black Olives» is the memoir by John Humphrys and Christopher Humphrys, published by Hodder & Stoughton in hardcover (288 pages, in English).
John Humphrys impulsively buys a semi-ruined cottage overlooking the Aegean, where his son Christopher already lives, to build a villa. The work drags on for four years amid peacocks, rats, hostile neighbors and builders. With humor and exasperation, father and son portray life in Greece and its people, and also their own relationship.
The work was originally published in 2009. Its subtitle is 'A Survivor's Tale of Housebuilding and Peacock Chasing in Greece'.
For readers of travel writing who appreciate humor and anecdotes about life in Greece.
