«Brokeback Mountain, en terreno vedado» is Annie Proulx's short story collection, published by Siglo XXI de España in paperback, 332 pages in Spanish.
Eleven stories set in Wyoming offer a glimpse of rural America: cowboys, ranchers, and solitary characters marked by a hostile landscape. The title story, adapted to film by Ang Lee, traces the relationship of cowboys Ennis and Jack over the years, a secret love that clashes with the intolerance of their surroundings.
The English original is titled Close Range: Wyoming Stories. The Spanish translation is by María Corniero.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in American rural narrative and the original story behind Ang Lee's film.
