Kouplan, an undocumented Iranian immigrant in Stockholm, scrapes by collecting cans. In an affluent neighborhood he hears Jenny Svärd, a municipal councilor, say that her lover has swindled her and fled with two hundred thousand kronor. Kouplan offers her his detective services: asking costs nothing.
