«Cabaret Biarritz» is the investigative novel by José C. Vales, published by Booket in paperback (456 pages, in Spanish).
Georges Miet, a writer for hire, travels to Biarritz in 1925 to investigate a crime that occurred fifteen years earlier: the body of a young woman was found tied to a ring on the pier after a storm. His interviews with some thirty people uncover silences and cover-ups, and portray a society between rigidity and excess.
The work won the Nadal Prize in 2015, and this paperback edition from Booket was published in February 2016.
For those seeking investigative novels with historical setting, multiple voices, and a touch of humor.
