Calima

Synopsis of Calima

The city is devastated after a week of calima (dust haze). Its inhabitants, on the verge of despair, struggle to survive in an apocalyptic environment with extreme temperatures and an unhealthy cloud of dust that covers everything. In this merciless context, an elderly woman with early-stage dementia sets out to find her daughter, a victim of human trafficking networks, crossing paths with characters living on the edge in a plot of settling scores and power struggles. The novel addresses the issues of addiction, political corruption, and the hopelessness of a population in crisis, tired and devoid of a future.
