«Camino de Perfección» is a treatise on obedience in which Teresa of Jesus presents to nuns the ideal of the discalced life, a work considered the Magna Carta of the Discalced Carmelite communities. The freedom of spirit in some passages, especially those alluding to the situation of women, troubled the censors.
