«Camões, o super-herói da língua portuguesa» is the children's and young adult book by Maria Alberta Menéres, in paperback (Edições Asa, 94 pages, in Portuguese).
As the biography of Luís de Camões is largely unknown, this book takes advantage of that mystery to emphasize that his great legacy was poetry, and narrates his adventures like those of a superhero. This introduces young readers to the author of Os Lusíadas and his role in the history of the Portuguese language.
Published in 2010, it is part of the Biblioteca collection from Edições Asa; the cover credits Fernanda Fidalgo and José Tragapinto as illustrators.
Aimed at young readers, it offers an enjoyable gateway to Camões's work and the history of the Portuguese language.
