«Cara robada» is the autobiographical testimony of Latifa, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (247 pages, in Spanish).
Latifa was born in Kabul in 1980 and was sixteen when the Taliban came to power in 1996. In this testimony she tells how her dream of studying journalism was cut short, how the burka became a prison for her spirit, and how she opened a clandestine school for girls in her home, until she managed to escape to Europe.
Work written with the collaboration of Chékéba Hachemi, translated by Esther Andrés and with a prologue by Emma Bonino; 2002 edition. Original title: Visage volé.
A work aimed at readers interested in memoirs, women's testimonies and the recent history of Afghanistan.
