«Carabinette» is the children's picture book by Jean Leroy with illustrations by Béatrice Rodriguez, published by Casterman in paperback (32 pages, in French).
Carabinette is a young witch who reviews her spells to avoid making blunders. A toad interrupts her in the middle of her study and asks her to turn him into a prince charming, and the visit triggers a series of unpredictable enchantments. A story of magic and humor in which the spells are not what they seem.
It belongs to the Casterminouche collection of small-format picture books, whose motto is «Une histoire et on se couche !».
Recommended for children aged 3 to 5, especially for reading aloud before bedtime.
