«Carlota i Mona Lisa» is a children's picture book by James Mayhew, published by RBA Molino in hardcover (36 pages, in Catalan).
For the third time, Carlota has an adventure in a museum: intrigued by the Mona Lisa's smile, she steps into Leonardo da Vinci's painting and meets the woman portrayed. Finding that she is not happy, she tries to cheer her up, and the result is disastrous chaos. A story that brings Renaissance art to children with humor and imagination.
It belongs to the «Katie» series and to volume 6 of the «Infantil Català» collection; the original English title is «Katie and the Mona Lisa».
For early readers curious about art and for families or educators who want to introduce children to Renaissance painting.
James John Mayhew is an English illustrator and author of children's books, storyteller, artist and concert presenter/live art performer.
