«Carnaval de pasiones» is the romantic novel by Rona Jaffe, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (357 pages, in Spanish).
Margie, Mil and Helen are three young American women who arrive in Brazil for work and find themselves immersed in the festive atmosphere of carnival. Far from home, nostalgia and inactivity awaken in them a desire to break with their former lives; thus, hidden marital tensions come to the surface and their fates change unexpectedly.
The work was originally published in English as «Away from Home»; this Spanish edition, published in 1975, is translated by Ana María de Foronda.
For readers of romantic fiction and narrative fiction seeking stories of personal relationships in an exotic setting.
