«Carretera secundària» is the contemporary novel by Joan Carreras, published by Proa in paperback (208 pages, in Catalan).
A weekend in Malzinelles: Jonàs visits his widowed father. The stay grows tense with a disturbing neighbor, an employee who keeps what she knows to herself, and some Germans recreating the fall of the Berlin Wall in the adjoining garden. Nothing is what it seems, not even memories, while a police investigation leads the characters to look in the mirror.
The work was originally written in Catalan and published in 2012 in the A tot vent collection, as number 568.
Suitable for a wide audience, especially readers of contemporary fiction interested in mystery and family portraits.
