«Carta lunar» is the fourth poetry collection by María Jesús Soler Arteaga, published by Anantes Gestoría Cultural in paperback (80 pages, in Spanish).
The collection traverses a nocturnal, inner geography where the moon, in its phases, sets the moods and figures. There are black-and-white movie scenes, empty streets, and party nights with the evocative melancholy of Scott Fitzgerald; love, solitude, and hope run through careful verses, far from flashiness.
The author, born in Seville in 1977, is a professor and researcher at the University of Seville. Her previous work, «Las horas muertas», closed with a block of poems dedicated to the night.
For readers of contemporary Spanish poetry seeking an intimate lyricism, with dreamlike imagery and literary and cinematic references.
