«Cartas marruecas» is the epistolary work by José Cadalso, published by Bruguera in paperback (213 pages, in Spanish).
The work, published posthumously in 1789, is structured as correspondence between Gazel, a young Moroccan traveling through Spain; Nuño, an older Spaniard; and Ben-Beley, a Moroccan sage. Their letters serve Cadalso to portray and satirize the customs, education, politics and religion of 18th-century Spain, from an Enlightenment perspective.
This 1981 edition belongs to the Libro clásico collection by Bruguera (no. 13), edited by Mariano Baquero Goyanes.
Recommended for readers interested in social satire and 18th-century Spanish Enlightenment prose.
