Cartes a Mahalta es una recopilación de las cartas intercambiadas entre el poeta Màrius Torres y Mercè Figueras, quien inspiró el personaje de Mahalta. Estas cartas fueron escritas durante los años que ambos vivieron en el sanatorio antituberculoso de Puig d'Olena. A través de ellas, el lector puede seguir la historia de una relación amorosa entre dos personas que, a pesar de vivir cerca, no podían reunirse debido a su enfermedad. Durante los seis años en que se escribieron las cartas (1936-1942), el mundo exterior se derrumbaba, mientras surgía una de las poesías más personales de la literatura catalana. Este libro ofrece una perspectiva única sobre la vida íntima de dos personalidades excepcionales.
