«Castigo» is a short story collection by Ferdinand von Schirach, published by Salamandra in paperback (176 pages, in Spanish).
Ferdinand von Schirach brings together twelve stories based on real cases to explore what punishment means on a criminal and moral level. In the courts, guilt, revenge and possible redemption mix with the imponderables of the judicial system, and the author portrays them with sobriety, humor and a lucid gaze on human fragility.
The original work, «Strafe», appeared in German in 2018. Translation by Susana Andrés Font.
For readers of short fiction and legal fiction; recommended for ages 16 and up.
Francis Skiddy von Stade was a champion polo player and the president of the Saratoga Association from 1943 to 1955.
