Catriona McCabe, a 28-year-old sports journalist, tries to relaunch her career and get over a failed relationship by following the Tour de France in summer. Immersed in a mostly male press corps, she travels from Provence to Paris in an atmosphere of sex, drugs, lycra and inflated egos, while the race mirrors her own ups and downs.
First installment of the McCabe Sisters series. This edition was published in 2000.
Aimed at readers of contemporary romance and chick lit, with a cycling setting.
Freya North is a British writer, active since 1996, and one of the precursors of chick lit. Her novels, which have been critical and financial successes, centre on strong female characters and their raunchy exploits.
