«Catalina, la fugitiva de San Benito» is the historical novel by Chufo Lloréns published by Debolsillo in paperback (864 pages, in Spanish).
A novel inspired by Catalina de Erauso, the nun ensign: after escaping from a convent to flee the Inquisition, the protagonist disguises herself as a man and serves as a page to a nobleman, while, as a woman, she becomes an actress at the court of Philip IV. The story portrays convents, corrales de comedias, and autos de fe of seventeenth-century Spain.
