«Cathari» is the historical essay by Jesús Mestre Godes, published by Ediciones Península in paperback (272 pages, in Spanish).
Catharism as a historical phenomenon: an evangelical religion for some, a heresy for the Church, which feared the influence of the bons homes. The crusade against the Albigensians devastated Languedoc and cost the life of Peter I the Catholic, defeated at Muret (1213); afterwards the region passed to France.
Published in 2005. Belongs to the Atalaya collection. Translation by Dolors Gallart from the original Catalan.
For readers interested in medieval history, heresies and popular works with an agile style.
