«Cautiva en Arabia» is the biography by Cristina Morató of Countess Marga d'Andurain, published by Debolsillo in paperback (416 pages, in Spanish).
The work reconstructs the life of Marga d'Andurain, a Basque-French bourgeois woman who spied for the British, ran a hotel in the Syrian desert and planned to be the first Western woman to enter Mecca, for which she married a Bedouin and converted to Islam. The narrative follows her travels through Cairo, Beirut, Damascus and Tangier, as well as her confinement in a harem and her imprisonment in Jeddah, up to her final years in occupied Paris.
The book belongs to the Best Seller collection from Debolsillo and draws on collaboration with Jacques d'Andurain, the countess's son. It was published on January 12, 2012.
