«Chamádeme Simbad» is the children's and young adult novel by Francisco Xose Castro Veloso, published by Editorial Galaxia in paperback (188 pages, in Galician).
Paulo's grandfather has started to forget everything and calls him Simbad the Sailor. Around him, chairs become ships and pirates appear in any corner; the adults don't understand anything, but Paulo does: with a child's gaze, he becomes his companion in adventures to face his grandfather's illness and selfishness.
It is part of the Árbore collection (no. 162), with illustrations by Manuel Pena Villar. It won the Fervenzas Literarias 2009 Prize in the children's literature category.
For readers interested in a story about memory and the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren.
