First title in Gary Soto's Chato series. Winner of the 1996 Pura Belpré Award and the 1996 Tomás Rivera Mexican American Children's Book Award.
Aimed at early readers, it is suitable for classrooms and family reading, especially to introduce children to English and Spanish.
