«Chats» is Yann Arthus-Bertrand's cat photography book, published by Editions du Chêne in paperback (380 pages, in French).
Photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand presents a gallery of cat portraits, photographed alone or with their owners. The book reviews the history of the cat and its mythology and includes a description of each species, in a small format that gathers the essentials about the feline world.
The original title of the work is «Les Chats» (1992); the edition described here, in French, was published in 2000.
It will appeal to cat lovers and animal photography enthusiasts.
Yann Arthus-Bertrand is a French environmentalist, activist, journalist and photographer. He has also directed films about the impact of humans on the planet.
