«Chats, chiens & autres lapins» is Harry Whittier Frees's animal photo book, with text by Sylvie Treille, in hardcover (74 pages, in French).
The book brings together the photographs of pioneer Harry Whittier Frees: domestic animals dressed as people and placed in human poses, in scenes captured in black and white from the late nineteenth century; his postcards circulated until the 1960s. These images combine humor and an unsettling sense of strangeness, with text by Sylvie Treille.
Published in Paris by Textuel in 2005. The text is by Sylvie Treille; the photographs are by Harry Whittier Frees.
For those who appreciate old photography and visual humor with animals; also for children and young people.
