«Chico, el rey del bosque» is the children's story by Francisco Mariscal Sistiaga, published by Ediciones Palabra in paperback (96 pages, in Spanish).
Chico is an orphaned fawn who believes he is the king of the forest and treats the other farm animals arrogantly: the dog Lucio, the hen Clueca, the song thrush Cagaprisas and the donkey Macareno. A well-deserved punishment makes him understand that he must apologize and he discovers that humility and friendship are worth more than pride.
It is part of the collection 'La Mochila de Astor. Green series'. It is the first edition, published in 2006, with illustrations by Mariano Hernanz López and cover design by Marta Tapias Merino.
Suitable for children from 7 years old and for those looking for stories featuring animals with a moral about humility and friendship.
