«Chispas» is the children's novel by Manuel Rivas, published by Alfaguara in hardcover (128 pages, in Spanish).
Chispas, a musician from Entrelampo, dreams of being a cosmic artist, but his neighbors see him as a mediocre comic. When the Fountain of Speech grants magic to his songs, he becomes a rock star; not on Earth, but on the planet Mutandi, where the Cracks live subject to fashions and turn him into their new fashion.
Illustrated by Sonia García, in the Alfaguara Clásicos collection. Edition published in October 2021.
For young readers aged 9 and up, especially those who enjoy stories of humor, music and criticism of fashions.
Manuel Rivas Barrós is a Galician writer, poet and journalist.
