«Clara y la penumbra» is the thriller novel by Spanish writer José Carlos Somoza, published by Debolsillo in paperback (560 pages, in Spanish).
In a world where hyperdramatism turns people into living canvases, exhibited and collected as works of art, the murder of a model from the Van Tysch Foundation sets off a secret investigation. Two agents discover that the line between the work and the person has blurred, and that the truth could unleash panic.
The novel won the Fernando Lara Novel Prize in 2001 and the Hammett Prize in 2002; this Debolsillo edition was published in 2006.
A work for readers of crime fiction interested in the debate on the value of art and human life.
