«Collected Poems 1948-1998» is the poetry collection by D. J. Enright, published by Oxford University Press in paperback (528 pages, in English).
It brings together poems from fifteen earlier books by D. J. Enright, including The Laughing Hyena, Addictions and Sad Ires, along with the complete sequences Terrible Shears, Paradise Illustrated and A Faust Book. The selection shows the author's evolution from a sensual poetry set in Alexandria and Japan to a more concise and ironic verse.
It corresponds to the third edition of the book, within the Oxford Poets series; it was published in 1998.
Suitable for readers of British poetry and for university studies of English literature.
