«Como lámpara encendida» is the biography of the Jesuit José María Rubio (1864-1929) written by Pedro Miguel Lamet, published by Belacqva in hardcover (251 pages, in Spanish).
Born in Dalías (Almería), José María Rubio went from rural parish priest to Jesuit in Madrid at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. The biography traces his devotion to the poor, his gift for counsel, and the abilities attributed to him: clairvoyance, bilocation, prophecy, and healing. Canonized by John Paul II, his life is narrated with novelistic appeal.
Published in 2003.
Will appeal to those seeking biographies of Spanish saints and Jesuit spirituality.
