«Con i tuoi occhi» is the novel by Romano Battaglia published by Rizzoli in 1997 (135 pages, in Italian).
Margherita, a girl blind since the age of nine, inhabits a small world of her own: she keeps a diary, talks with a saint, speaks to the trees and listens to the rain; her sparrow measures the passage between past and present. With echoes of the Cantico delle creature, the novel is a journey towards the light and a search for the secret key of the soul.
The first edition, from 1997, was published in Milan; the author, Romano Battaglia, lived between 1933 and 2012.
For readers of Italian fiction who appreciate intimate, reflective stories about faith, hope and the capacity to dream.
