«Conni geht zum Zahnarzt» is a children's book by Liane Schneider with illustrations by Eva Wenzel-Bürger (Carlsen, paperback, 24 pages, in German).
One night, while brushing her teeth, Conni discovers a small brown spot on a tooth, and her mother tells her she has to go to the dentist. Conni is not happy about it, because her friend Michel from kindergarten claims that dentists drill holes in teeth with a drill. Luckily her mother goes with her, and the visit turns out to be an exciting experience.
The title belongs to the Lesemaus series, of which it is volume 56; the cover features a recommendation from Stiftung Lesen.
For young children facing their first visit to the dentist or feeling apprehensive about the practice; the story helps normalize fear.
