«Contes et légendes du loup» is a collection of stories by Léo Lamarche, published by Nathan Jeunesse in paperback (151 pages, in French).
The volume brings together twelve stories from traditions of various countries that portray the wolf from very different perspectives: it appears as a fierce and wild animal, but also as a protector, a ridiculous character, or a creature transformed into a werewolf. Each tale invites readers to discover a different facet of the wolf and to confront the fears it awakens.
Xavier Mussat provides the illustrations for the French edition, published in 2004 by Nathan Jeunesse.
Recommended for readers aged 9 to 12, especially those who enjoy traditional tales and scary stories.
