«Contes et récits tirés de l'Iliade et de l'Odyssée» is the young-adult adaptation of Homeric poems by G. Chandon (Pocket Jeunesse, paperback, French).
The volume adapts the great Homeric cycles for young readers: the abduction of Helen by a Trojan prince triggers the Trojan War, and Ulysses' return to Ithaca is a journey with monsters and enchantresses. Penelope, Ulysses' faithful wife, waits and resists the suitors who want her kingdom.
The book belongs to the Mythologies collection from Pocket Jeunesse, with text in French.
For young readers approaching Greek mythology and Homer's tales for the first time.
