«Contes fantàstics» is an anthology of fantasy and horror stories by Edgar Allan Poe, published by Columna in paperback (348 pages, in Catalan).
The stories in this volume show Edgar Allan Poe's fascination with the supernatural and the metaphysical, with a tone between mystery and horror: there are premature burials, tortures and extraordinary elements that break into everyday settings. Poe is considered one of the peaks of the 19th-century fantasy and horror short story.
Volume 8 of the Biblioteca Bàsica d'El Periódico collection, published in 2005 and with a Catalan translation by Joan Solé.
For readers of classic horror, gothic fiction and 19th-century short narrative.
Escritor, poeta y crítico literario estadounidense del siglo XIX, maestro del relato de terror y padre de la narrativa policíaca moderna.
