«Cronicando» is the collection of chronicles by Mozambican writer Mia Couto, published by Txalaparta in paperback (200 pages, in Spanish).
The book brings together chronicles that Mia Couto published in the Mozambican press in the late eighties, which earned the Annual Areosa Pena Journalism Prize in 1989. They are brief pieces, almost short stories, portraying everyday life in Mozambique and its contradictions; in them, Couto recreates Portuguese to name a reality absent from official reports and news.
First edition in 1996, in the Gebara collection, translated from Portuguese by Bego Montorio.
It is a title for readers of contemporary African literature and for those who appreciate the chronicle and the short story.

António Emílio Leite Couto, better known as Mia Couto, is a Mozambican writer. He won the Camões Prize in 2013, the most important literary award in the Portuguese language, and the Neustadt International Prize for Literature in 2014.
