«Cròniques de la veritat oculta» is the collection of fantastic short stories by Pere Calders, published by Edicions 62 in paperback (224 pages, in Catalan).
Made up of 31 short tales, the book turns everyday reality into a stage where the unusual and the dreamlike slip in naturally. Halfway between chronicle and fantasy, the stories explore human behavior, memory and the absurd with irony and precise language that reveals the craft of a singular narrator.
This work won the Premi Víctor Català in 1954 and was originally published in 1955. In this edition it is part of the MOLC - Les Millors Obres de la Literatura Catalana collection.
A classic of twentieth-century Catalan short fiction, recommended for readers of short stories, fantastic literature and contemporary prose.
